How do you read a white label link report?
To read a white label link report, check its 6 columns against your order: live URL, Domain Rating, organic traffic, anchor text, target page and placement date. The check takes under a minute per link.
| Column | What it shows | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Live URL | The exact page where the link sits | Open it and confirm the link is in the body copy |
| Domain Rating | The Ahrefs DR of the site at placement | It meets or beats the tier you ordered |
| Organic traffic | Ahrefs estimated monthly traffic at placement | It meets the traffic floor for the tier |
| Anchor text | The clickable words used for the link | It matches your plan and reads naturally |
| Target page | The page on your site that receives the link | The right URL, with no typos or redirects |
| Placement date | When the link went live | Use it to line up ranking changes over time |
How do agencies use the report with clients?
Agencies use the report in 3 ways: as proof of work, a planning record and a monitoring list.
- Prove the work: forward the report unchanged each month, or add your logo and send it with your update.
- Plan the next month: read where anchors and authority went, then balance the next order, as our anchor text guide explains.
- Monitor the links: load the live URLs into your tracker and check them monthly, as our backlink monitoring guide describes.
Lead client presentations with target pages, not metrics. Clients care most about which pages received authority and why. Group the rows by target page, add one sentence on each page's goal and show its ranking trend since the placement date.
The white label link report never mentions us. It fits any white label link building or white label SEO reseller workflow.
Common questions
Can I export the report into my own template?
Yes. Every report downloads as a CSV file, so you paste the rows into your own spreadsheet, slide deck or client dashboard. Agencies often keep one running sheet per client and add each month's placements to it. That running sheet makes quarterly reviews and renewal conversations faster to prepare.
Why do DR and traffic change after placement?
DR and traffic change because Ahrefs recalculates both as sites gain or lose links and rankings. The report records metrics at the moment of placement, which is when our guarantee applies. Later readings move up or down as a normal part of that recalculation. A changed metric does not mean the link itself changed.
